Description

The Minister for Youth Affairs, Jenny Mikakos, MP is inviting young Victorians aged between 12 and 25 to the Victorian Government’s first Youth Summit on 31 March 2017.

The Youth Summit is a key action from the Victorian Government’s Youth Policy: Building Stronger Youth Engagement in Victoria and provides an engagement channel for young people to connect with government and shape change.

It’s an opportunity for young Victorians to voice their ideas, be inspired by other young change makers and set the agenda for change.

Summit attendees will:

  • share views and ideas with other young people from across Victoria
  • hear from young leaders and participate in workshops about priority issues for young people like education, employment, mental health and housing
  • hear from inspirational young change makers, and
  • identify actions for change and help shape policies, services and programs affecting young people.

There will also be performances by young artists and morning/afternoon tea and lunch will be provided.

Young people under 18 will require parental or guardian permission to attend.

Travel assistance may be available for young people from rural Victoria or for young people with a disability.

For more information on the Youth Summit, transport assistance, or any other issues, please contact the Office for Youth on 9096 1577.
